MTEC has been involved with the Kiwifruit Industry for many years, designing and subdividing land for orchards and designing site layouts and obtaining resource consents for post-harvest operations.

Our knowledge and experience was recently recognised by Western Bay of Plenty District Council, who engaged MTEC to prepare District Plan provisions for a ‘Post-Harvest’ zone for the significant packhouse and coolstore sites.  The zone has been incorporated into the new Proposed District Plan, giving acknowledgement to the significant value of the post-harvest sector to the Western Bay economy.  The project was recognised by the front page Profile of MTEC in the April Priority One newsletter.
