MTEC recently obtained consent  from the Rotorua District Council for Lake House Resort Developments Ltd re-development of the historic Lake House hotel at Ohinemutu. 

The site and building is one of Rotorua's original tourist facilities. 

The project builds on the heritage values and involves an up-grade into a hotel and health spa retreat involving 20 apartments units, 15 hotel units, health spa facilities, bar and restaurant facilities and landscaping of the onsite geothermal features and structures. 

MTEC work on the resource consent meant that all submissions were resolved without the need for a Council hearing which was a great outcome. 

Construction is proposed to commence in 2011.
