Public Submissions being sought
25 January 2011
Bay of Plenty Regional Council is now calling for public submissions on the Proposed Regional Policy Statement with submissions closing on Tuesday 8th February 2011.
The Regional Policy Statement (“RPS”) promotes an overview of the Resource Management issues of the region. The RPS doesn’t contain rules but it sets out policies for management of the natural and physical resources of the whole of the Bay of Plenty region. District Plans of the local authorities have to be consistent with the RPS so it is an important regional planning document. Policy is proposed for such matters as the Coastal Environment, Energy and Infrastructure, Iwi Resource Management, Natural Hazards, Urban Form and Growth Management, Water Quantity, Air Quality, Geothermal Resources, and Water Quality and Land Use.
